Pound bridge on 83 to Clintwood

If you've traveled 83 from Pound to Clintwood lately, you've had to notice that part of the bridge just past the old Pound Clinic is missing. Traffic has been restricted to one lane with traffic lights on each side.

I haven't noticed any work on the bridge in several weeks, and it gives me the impression the bridge is not really safe to cross.

Are you referring to the bridge repairs? That's been in effect for a while - they have to fix that pedestrian bridge section. It had been closed for quite some time.

If you dont want to cross the bridge just use the Bold Camp rd/ Highlands Ave detour.

Yes, but when I passed the other day, it looked as if they had removed part of the bridge on that one side.

Have you noticed any work on the bridge in the last few weeks?

I was there a few days ago. But I'm never there during construction hours.

They are going to have to remove parts of it in order to make repairs.

They aren't planning on a complete new bridge??

I think in time it will essentially be new construction - deck and sidewalls - but it has to be done a little at a time. I would expect it to take forever and a day. or two.
